On campus
recreation includes both indoor and outdoor activities.
Indoor activities primarily take place in our Goodall
(recreation) Center and include such activities as
basketball, volleyball, billiards, foosball, ping-pong,
TV, movies, and weight lifting. Among outdoor
activities, horseback riding is the most popular, but
the boys also enjoy flag football, softball, hiking and
ranching. Computers, reading, videos and board games
also provide positive social interaction within the
houses.
Boys who express an interest, and demonstrate
appropriate social skills, are eligible to participate
in public school extracurricular activities. These
include music, drama, football, basketball, wrestling,
and track. During summer, boys may also participate in
community baseball programs, use the municipal swimming
pool, and the local movie theater. Occasional outings
for fishing trips are planned during the summer months.
All activities are supervised by NBR staff.
