Our History

A Quick History Lesson About The Nebraska Boy's Ranch
nestled in the heartland of western Nebraska...
|
|
After
the tragic loss of her son, Mrs. Avilla Snow-Redfern
willed her cattle ranch to be used to provide a home for
at-risk boys. The first boy was accepted in the fall of
1965, and since then Nebraska Boys Ranch has served as a
home for over 750 youth. NBR is a non-profit
foundation, operating on a cash basis and is audited
annually by a CPA. The governing Board of Directors is
composed of business and community leaders, serving on a
volunteer basis. The ranch covers approximately 17,000
acres and the cow-calf operation is used to provide a
portion of the funding necessary for such an extensive
program. A contract for services with the Dept. of
Health and Human Service and faithful donors provide
additional funding.

sometimes help that only a professional can provide. The
