WHERE WOULD MY SON GO TO SCHOOL?

Education is one of the most emphasized goals at Nebraska Boys Ranch. We offer many levels of education service, but our philosophy is that boys need to be able to learn to function in the public school setting. This is primarily based upon the fact that most of our youth return to their family and their home school, and will need to be able to function in both of those areas. NBR provides a staff member who serves as a liaison between the public school and NBR.

After school programs, tutoring, summer school, school assessments for proper placement, GED (see below) and college courses are some of the peripheral services offered through the education department. Youth are expected to be willing and able, to enter the public school system as part of their program. If age and lack of earned high school credits do not allow for a traditional high school program to be completed, entry into the GED program will be considered. We have, on occasion, assisted youth to transition to the Job Corps program, as well. We offer a transitional school on campus, which is used to help the boys acclimate to their new living arrangement and new level of expectation that is now placed upon them. This program is supervised by a certified teacher.

"Leg-Up" -- In life at some point in time most everyone will need a leg-up. It may simply mean a hug, a pat-on-the-back or sometimes help that only a professional can provide. The Nebraska Boy's Ranch is here to help provide that "LEG-UP" with a safe home environment for boys in need and to provide adult living skills for their future!
