Donating to Nebraska Boys
RanchWhy should you consider giving to Nebraska Boys Ranch
-- because we cannot do the work without you!
A donor’s prime motive for
contributing to Nebraska Boys Ranch is to further our work and
goals-not to save taxes. However, once having decided to contribute,
you will want to plan your gift to obtain maximum tax benefits.
Charitable deductions not only reduce the out-of-pocket costs of the
gift but, in many cases, make it possible for a larger contribution
than originally planned. The books are audited annually by a
CPA and all contributions to Nebraska Boys Ranch are tax deductible.
Many of our supporters further our work by
making gifts of various types, such as giving property, securities or
real estate. Many still make their gift the old fashioned way-they
give cash. Below are various options for contributing to Nebraska Boys
Ranch.
The Ranch exists today because of the generosity of those who believe
that we can give hope to our youth. Forty years of working with
troubled youth has proven that even the worst and seemingly hopeless
cases can be turned into bright and happy futures. But we can't do it
alone. Our donor friends are as much a part of the Nebraska Boys Ranch
program as the staff who are working every day to give our boys a
chance to turn their lives around.
Note: The
Ranch is operated on a cash basis. The books are audited annually by a
Certified Public Account. Donor friends are contacted several times a
year and kept informed of Ranch progress and boy activities through
the Ranch newsletter. All cash contributions made to the Nebraska Boys Ranch
are tax deducible in the year they are made!

Memorials
“Renew the life that is finished through the
life of a needy boy.” Memorial gifts
are a wonderful way to remember a friend or loved one while at the
same time offering a second chance to boys in need. While making
funeral arrangements, the family may want to suggest that memorials be
sent to Nebraska Boys Ranch. The bereaved family is notified of
memorials received in honor of their loved one. All memorial gifts are
listed in our newsletter, the Ramrod.
Annuities
A Gift Annuity is a written contract between
you and Nebraska Boys Ranch. A Gift Annuity guarantees tax and
income advantages to your during your lifetime and is recommended for
people over age 60. The donor transfers assets (cash, securities,
etc.) to us and in return receives regular payments for life. When
‘you’ are gone, the annuity assets are transferred to Nebraska Boys
Ranch’s Endowment Fund creating a perpetual gift to our boys.
Giving Property
Nebraska Boys Ranch does accept gifts of real
estate such as land and/or dwellings, provided the property has real
value. Gifts of real estate may require an appraisal by a professional
appraiser.
Donating Stocks and Bonds
Donations of stocks and bonds are another way
of giving to Nebraska Boys Ranch. The value of these gifts are based
on fair market value.
Giving Through Your Will
Individuals may name Nebraska Boys Ranch as a
beneficiary of their estate. Bequests to Nebraska Boys Ranch can often
save significant estate taxes. The gift may be in cash, securities,
real or personal property. We prefer unrestricted gifts in order to
avoid the possibility that the purpose for which a gift is given
becomes obsolete. Unrestricted gifts are used to further the general
purposes of the Ranch. Consult your lawyer to discuss making a
charitable gift to Nebraska Boys Ranch.
